„Fraport Twin Star Airport Management“ AD’s Career Development Center won first place in category “Career services for non-students” in Euroguidance National competition in 2015 for innovations in career development, organization and consulting in Bulgaria. Thus the Career Development Center of the company – operator of Varna and Burgas airports, joins the good practices of Euroguidance. „Fraport Twin Star Airport Management” AD’s Career Development Center has been in effect since 2008. It includes the development and operation of Career Development Programs and Internship Program. The Career Development Programs are focused on training high potential employees and have the goal of creating experts and managers by improving their professional and personal skills.

New VIP lounges with unique design welcomes passengers at Varna and Burgas Airports. The new VIP service at both airports gives opportunity to speed up formalities and spend quality time in a calm, cozy and friendly atmosphere. The lounges offer a VIP assortment of selected specialties and beverages, newspaper and magazines, TV as well as free Wi Fi. Its exclusive atmosphere makes it the perfect place to relax, freshen up, eat or work before the flight.

On 4th of December 2013 Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD inaugurated the new passenger terminal at Burgas airport. The investment in the newest, modern facility of Burgas city and the necessary infrastructure for its operation is 80 million levs – completely private investment. Construction of the terminal is of significant importance for the development of the Black Sea city and the tourism industry on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
In the Day of Varna – 15 August 2013 Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD have opened a new passenger terminal at Varna Airport. The total investment of the Concessionaire for the airport terminal and related infrastructure is over 75 million BGN.
The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Danail Papazov, Minister of Transport, Professor Aneliya Klisarova, Education Minister, deputies, diplomats, the mayor of the city, the governor, the chief financial officer of Fraport AG Dr. Matthias Zieschang, the management of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management and others.
“Fraport Twin Star Airport Management” AD inaugurated on March 4th, 2012 the completely rehabilitated runway at Varna airport. The project implementation is crucial for the development of the airport and the entire North-East Bulgarian region as a centre for business development and tourism industry. In the preparation and implementation of the project Fraport invested nearly 40 million BGN.
The contract for the construction of the New Passenger Terminal Areas at Burgas and Varna airports has been signed in Varna between „Fraport Twin Star Airport Management” AD and Consortium “TIE- İÇTAŞ”. The construction of the new passenger terminals at Varna and Burgas airports is going to commence in December 2011. It is planned for the summer season `2013 the guests of Varna and Burgas airports to be welcomed in and sent from the new buildings.

At a special ceremony Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD marked the commencement of the construction activities for several large infrastructure projects at Burgas Airport.

These are the new Cargo building, the new Administration building and the new Fire Station building at the airport. During the event the guests had the opportunity to witness the execution of another major project of the Concessionaire’s – the extension of the apron with four additional aircraft stands.

Six new and ultra modern firefighting and rescue airfield vehicles of the Panther type were recently purchased by the concessionaire of the Varna and Burgas airports. The state-of-the-art vehicles are powerful and fast and feature the latest in technology and fire and rescue equipment available worldwide. The vehicles were delivered as part of the process of complete technological renovation and modernisationthat Fraport Twin Star has undertaken at the two airports.
Varna and Burgas airports` VIP lounges have a new, modern look. Guided by contemporary trends, a team of young architects and designers transform innovative concepts into the interior of the VIP halls of the Airports. In their modernization are sought the most recent decisions, warm look, clean and elegant style, colors full with freshness and giving good mood.
In July 2007 Fraport Twin Star Airport Management has been certified for all its activities in Central Office, Burgas and Varna airports according to the standard EN ISO 9001:2000 by TUV Austria.
Fraport Group performs annual audits to assess the compliance of the system for quality management with the requirements of the certificate. External audits by TUV Austria and by the airlines performing flights to Varna and Burgas airports assure as well the compliance with the highest service standards.
As a result of a clear program of investment and development and the achievements within the short period since the start of the concession, Fraport Twin Star Airport Management received from the State Agency for Investment Certificates for First Class Investor for the projects to expand and modernize the airports in Varna and Burgas.
New equipment for ground-handling services, thanks to which was achieved a significant increase in the speed and efficiency in servicing aircraft was delivered to both marine airports. By the end of the second year of entry into force of the concession agreement, the company invested in new equipment twice as much as the commitment in the contract.

Summer arrivals and departures terminal was inaugurated on June 18 2007 at the airport of Varna. "We would like to thank the concessionaires for strictly fulfilling the commitments." said at the opening of the building the Transport Minister Petar Mutafchiev.

New terminal for departing passengers opened its gates on 29.06.2007 at Burgas airport in compliance with the performance of the investment program for immediate service improvements of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management.

On November 10, 2006 with celebrations at the airports of Varna and Burgas, Fraport Twin Star Airport Management officially marked the entering into force of the concession agreement for the seaside airports of Bulgaria. From that date, the German-Bulgarian consortium assumed responsibility for the personnel, assets and future development of Varna and Burgas airports.
On September 10, 2006 in Sofia, the Minister of Transport Petar Mutafchiev, Andreas Helfer - CEO of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD and Tihomir Trifonov – Managing Director of the company, signed a contract granting concession to the civil airports of Burgas Varna for a period of 35 years.
