A Festive Opening of easyJet's First Flight


Varna airport welcomed the first easyJet flight from London with a traditional water salute. The airline started operating at Varna Airport for the first time this summer season with two new lines to London (Gatwick) and Berlin (Schonefeld).

Varna Airport’s greeting of the arriving passengers from London included an attractive musical choreography on the apron accompanied by cool summer gifts. The departing passengers had the opportunity to enjoy delicious sweets and summer cocktails.

Celebrating the first flight, a Bulgarian family from the departing passengers received a return ticket to a destination of their choice complimentary from the airline,. In attendance of the opening ceremony were the District Governor of Varna Stoyan Pasev and Mayor of Varna Ivan Portnih, the management of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD, representatives from easyJet airline and many other guests.

In his greeting, the CEO of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management Ulrich Heppe stated: „I am very happy to mark the start of our summer season with the arrival of easyJet airline and the two new routes that the carrier will be flying – as the flights London-Varna-London today and destination Berlin Schonefeld that will commence on the 28th of June. Today, we are celebrating a major milestone not only for Varna airport, but for the city of Varna and I want to wish us all much success and many happy returns!“

The flights from Varna to the British capital will be held three times a week in the summer – every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. On June 28, Varna will welcome the second new easyJet route with direct flights to the German capital Berlin twice a week - each Wednesday and Saturday.
