The Board of Directors of Fraport Twin Star welcomed Dep. Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Mariana Nikolova at Burgas Airport.

On behalf of the concessionaire Fraport Bulgaria, Dr. Frank Quante expressed the necessity to continue the active information exchange and assurance related to the full compliance with all safety measures as a means to ensure the peace of mind of tourists and other travelers.

"Important topics for us as an airport operator are visa facilitation with Russia, the establishment of a Green corridor with the United Kingdom and the acceptance of Green Passports from Israeli passengers." - said Dr. Frank Quante

The two countries expressed their readiness to continue their 24/7 commitment to restore passenger traffic at the Black Sea airports, the gateways to Bulgarian sea tourism, not only in the summer months, but during all four seasons. The leading goal is to develop all available niches that the city of Burgas has to offer in order to become a year-round prime location for trips and visits, despite the current difficult situation.

Georgi Chipilski, Director of Burgas Airport presented the work standards which are applied at the airport in order to ensure the safe and secure travel of tourists.

During the summer season of 2021, Burgas Airport will operate flights to two new destinations - Doncaster in the UK and Szczecin in Poland. Another piece of good news is LOT airline‘s intention to operate three times as many flights as last year to five destinations in Poland.

The current bookings submitted by airlines amount to 76% of those in 2019. Three new airlines will launch flights to Burgas Airport this year: the Bulgarian company Voyage Air, Ikar Airlines LLC and Jet Time.
