On December 6th, at a special ceremony in Burgas, the concessionaire of Varna Airport and Burgas Airport - Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD and Port of Burgas EAD signed a memorandum of cooperation. Through the note, the two companies will encourage and expand their fruitful cooperation so far to deepen the economic development of the Burgas Black Sea region.
During the first 15 years of its concession, Fraport Bulgaria invested over BGN 400 million. As a result, the airports in Varna and Burgas have 2 new passenger terminals opened in 2013, significant investments in infrastructure and equipment improvements and modernization, including a completely renovated runway at Varna Airport – all in conformity with the highest European safety standards.

Since the beginning of the crisis, Varna Airport and Burgas Airport have been in direct contact with the responsible health authorities, constantly monitoring the situation and has remained mobilized to respond 24/7.
As of today, the winter flight timetable comes into effect at Varna Airport and Burgas Airport. The winter schedule is in line with the IATA winter season, which runs through to March 31st, 2022.

Wizz Air, the fastest growing airline in Europe and the leading airline in Bulgaria, celebrated today the opening of its base in Bourgas, the third one in Bulgaria. The base will be seasonal one as the airline will base 1 Airbus A320 aircraft at Bourgas airport between June and September 2021. With the establishment of this new base, Wizz Air now offers a total of 16 exciting routes from the seaside city, as 10 of them are completely new ones to start in June 2021
