2022 should be the year where tourism in Europe is expected to recover “back to normal”.


As always, Fraport Twin Star will do its best to serve the Bulgarian Black Sea, but joint efforts are needed more than ever! Especially on the international marketing of the Black Sea resorts.  


Yesterday, during the meetings with the Mayor of Burgas – Mr. Dimitar Nikolov, and the newly appointed Governor of Burgas Region -Mr. Stayko Tankov, the CEO of Fraport Twin Star - Dr. Frank Quante, informed about Fraport Twin Star’s exchange with the Ministry of Tourism and other partners to achieve the best for the region.

They all shared the idea that much more has to be done to compete successfully for the international travelers and will work in this direction!  


“I hope very much that joint activities will be coordinated as soon as possible! We are ready to support marketing activities and for sure will do our best to welcome all passengers with quality service in our nice airports!”, said Dr. Quante, and once again, he emphasized the company’s preparedness for the upcoming touristic season.  


The data also show this for the first month of the year - the increase in the passenger traffic at Burgas Airport and Varna Airport is 339% and 133%, respectively, compared to the data for 2021, but still far from the traffic of 2019.
