The first days of September brought the most awaited news for Varna Airport since 2019! On the 2nd of September, 1 000  000th passenger for the year arrived at our airport with a full flight from Sofia with Bulgaria Air.

Detelina Kamburova, who arrived with her husband and their two small children in the sea capital, was welcomed with many surprises and special gifts, which were personally presented by the Chief Executive Officer of Fraport Twin Star - Dr. Frank Quante.  With a wish for many travels and regular flights to and from Varna, Detelina received a new travel
suitcase from the airport's concessionaire company, as well as four travel vouchers from the airline company.

The celebration continued with a cake cutting ceremony by the management of Fraport Twin Star, the Director of Varna Airport - Dimitar Kostadinov, as well as the Commercial Director of Bulgaria Air - Maria Stoyanova.  All the other passengers were surprised with handmade cookies and souvenirs for the special occasion.

Since the beginning of the concession of Varna Airport by "Fraport Twin Star" until now, Bulgaria Air had operated more than 41 000 flights, transporting nearly 3.5 million passengers. Even during the most serious peak of the COVID-pandemic in the country, when many other airlines stopped operating, the national carrier
continued to connect Varna and Sofia with regular flights without interruption.
The airline offers a wide choice of flights to/from European destinations and operates daily flights from Varna to the Bulgarian capital 3 times per day in the summer, with once or twice daily flights during the winter season.
