Burgas Airport with a new airport director

Vasil Atanasov takes over the position from the previous director of Burgas Airport - Georgi Chipilski


On the eve of the World Aviation and Cosmonautics Day - 12.04.2024, Burgas Airport has a new airport director. Vasil Atanasov follows the current Airport Director Georgi Chipilski, who retires after working the last 19 years of his career for Burgas Airport, the last 15 years as Airport Director. In that function he has led the development and transformation of Burgas Airport into a modern, safe, and successful airport, following the best practices and innovations in aviation management.

Vasil Atanasov gained valuable long-term professional experience at Burgas Airport, starting his career at the airport in 2007. He collected experience in various positions in the operations of Burgas Airport, in the last 8 years as "Head of Ramp Handling and Cargo Department". He holds degrees from Drexel University in Philadelphia, USA – a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, as well as from the “D. A. Tsenov" Academy of Economics in Svishtov - a Master's degree in Finance. He completed his secondary education at "Goethe" German Language School in Burgas.
