Burgas Airport expects Summer 2024 with flights from over 85 destinations in 25 countries

The first tourists for the summer arrive on the Southern Black Sea coast with the first flight since Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen area by air on March 31

Burgas Airport, part of "Fraport Twin Star Airport Management" AD, will welcome the first tourists for Summer 2024 with the historical first flight since Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen area by air on the last day of March. They arrive from Poland on a flight of the low-cost airline Ryanair. During this summer season, the airline will operate 10 routes, and the beginning of the summer flight program to Burgas Airport will be set on March 31, with flights from Krakow (Poland) and London Luton (Great Britain). In April, flights from Vienna (Austria) also will start, in May flights from Kaunas (Lithuania) and Warsaw Modlin (Poland) will be operated, and in June start from Dublin (Ireland), Budapest (Hungary), Bratislava (Slovakia), Poznan and Gdańsk (Poland).

In the summer season 2024, another low-cost airline - Wizz Air, will operate flights connecting Burgas Airport with 9 destinations in 5 countries, namely: Vienna (Austria), Budapest and Debrecen (Hungary), Gdansk, Katowice, Lublin, and Warsaw (Poland ), Tel Aviv (Israel) and London Luton (Great Britain), which runs year-round.

On April 28, for the first time, Discover Airlines will launch regular flights from Frankfurt to Burgas, which will be operated twice a week. Thus, in addition to direct flights to the German city, as part of the Lufthansa group, the airline offers connecting flights to numerous destinations around the world.

The low-cost airline easyJet will renew its summer flight program to Burgas already on May 12 with flights from Manchester (Great Britain), and in the last week of June, it will also restart flights from two European capitals - London Gatwick (Great Britain) and Berlin (Germany).

The national air carrier Bulgaria Air resumes regular flights from Sofia to Burgas on June 2, which is 3 weeks earlier, compared to last year, and in the beginning they will be operated 2 times a week, and from June 17 they will start 5 times a week.

In the middle of June, Eurowings will restart its flights from 4 German cities to Burgas (Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Cologne, and Hamburg), and at the beginning of July, for the first time, flights also start from Salzburg (Austria).

An incredibly diverse charter program is expected at Burgas Airport in Summer 2024, with the first charter flights expected to start in the first half of May. With them, the first organized tourists of the season are expected to arrive from: Belgium, the Netherlands, Great Britain, and Poland, and from the second half of May charter flights from Germany will also begin. For the first year, Fly Lili airline will operate charter flights from Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic to Burgas Airport.

After a 10-year pause, TUI Deutschland will once again operate flights to Burgas from the German city of Hanover.

During this summer season, Spanish tourists will once again have the opportunity to enjoy the picturesque Southern Black Sea coast with direct flights from Madrid to Burgas.

For the first time in the history of Burgas Airport, charter flights will be operated from the other side of the Iberian Peninsula - Porto (Portugal). Another completely new market is Kosovo - in June, the first charter flights are expected from the capital of the Balkan country - Pristina.

Another completely new airline for Burgas Airport is FlyOne Armenia, which will operate charter flights from another capital, but from the Caucasus region - the Armenian pearl, Yerevan.

A positive trend with a double-digit percentage growth of tourists from Great Britain is expected, thanks to the flights from 18 destinations in the United Kingdom to Burgas. This summer season, British tour operator and airline Jet2Holidays and Jet2.com announced a major increase in capacity to Burgas and added a new route from Liverpool to Burgas, which will be operated for the first time since 2021.

In addition, for the first time, there will be flights from London Southend Airport, offered by another British tour operator - Balkan Holidays and operated by BH Air.

After the success of last year's regular flights from the Latvian capital Riga to Burgas, this year the national air carrier of Latvia - Air Baltic, adds another route, this time from the capital of Estonia - Tallinn. Flights from the two Baltic capital cities to Burgas will be operated twice a week and will start at the end of May.
