Varna Airport launches Winter 2025/26 schedule with 16 routes to 11 countries

For the first time this winter – direct flights from the seaside capital to Frankfurt, Bratislava, and Bergamo

Varna Airport welcomes the Winter 2025/26 season with a diverse schedule featuring a total of 16 routes to 11 countries. Among them are three new winter destinations – Frankfurt (Germany), Bratislava (Slovakia), and Bergamo (Italy), offering even more travel opportunities for the residents and guests of Bulgaria’s seaside capital.

Starting 26 October 2025, the airport’s winter schedule will include the following routes:

  • Discover Airlines launches for the first time a winter route from Varna to Frankfurt, operating every Thursday and Sunday. As part of the Lufthansa Group, the airline provides convenient connections to dozens of international destinations through Europe’s financial hub.
  • Wizz Air expands its network with new flights to Bratislava (starting 15 November, operating every Tuesday and Saturday, with additional Thursday frequencies in December) and Bergamo, which was launched successfully in September and is now part of the winter schedule as well. Thus, Wizz Air will serve a total of 12 destinations from Varna this winter, including London Luton (five times per week), Berlin, Dortmund, Memmingen, Nuremberg, Hamburg, Hahn, Eindhoven, Brussels Charleroi, and Tel Aviv.
  • Bulgaria Air continues to operate daily flights to Sofia, ensuring convenient connections to both domestic and international routes within the national carrier’s network.
  • Austrian Airlines and Turkish Airlines will offer daily flights to Vienna and Istanbul respectively, providing convenient connections worldwide. This is the first winter since 2019 that the Austrian carrier has restored its daily flights to Varna.

The new winter schedule demonstrates the sustained interest of airlines in Varna as a year-round destination. The addition of Frankfurt, Bratislava, and Bergamo highlights the market’s potential and reinforces the growing role of Bulgaria’s Black Sea airports in connecting the region to international destinations”, commented Michael Reusch, CEO of Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD.

Varna Airport looks forward to welcoming all passengers with its signature high-quality service and remains committed to providing a pleasant travel experience for everyone!
