Over 70 destinations and new key routes: Burgas Airport with an ambitious flight program for Summer 2026

Burgas Airport welcomes the 2026 summer season with a rich flight program, new strategic routes, and increased frequencies on many established lines. Passengers are expected to have  access to more than 70 direct destinations, further strengthening the airport’s role as a key air gateway to Bulgaria’s Southern Black Sea coast.

One of the most significant highlights of the season is the launch of direct flights to the Italian capital  Rome /Fiumicino/by  Ryanair. This happens for the first time in the nearly century-long history of the airport. The new route will operate from the beginning of May with a frequency of two flights per week - every Friday and Sunday. In May, the airline is also resuming its flights to  Dublin  (Ireland),  Krakow  and  Warsaw /Modlin/  (Poland), and  London /Luton/  (United Kingdom), while in June it will restart flights to  Budapest  (Hungary),  Bratislava  (Slovakia),  Vienna  (Austria),  Kaunas  (Lithuania),  Gdansk  and  Poznan  (Poland).

Wizz Air  is also resuming its flight program in May with routes to  London /Luton/  (United Kingdom) and  Warsaw(Poland), and from June it is adding flights to  Budapest  (Hungary),  Gdansk, Katowice  and  Lublin  (Poland). The airline is increasing frequencies on existing routes and, from 21 July, is introducing a new direct service to  Radom Airport  near  Warsaw  (Poland).

The national carrier  Bulgaria Air  is resuming its regular  Sofia-Burgas route at the beginning of June with four weekly frequencies, and from the end of the month flights will operate daily, providing convenient domestic connections and transfer options.

Jet2.com  is expanding its presence with a new route from  London /Gatwick/  (United Kingdom), which will operate twice weekly from the beginning of May. The British airline is also resuming its full flight program with  a total of 11 routes  to Burgas.

The French market is also expanding with two new direct routes - after a 9‑year pause, in the second half of May  Transavia France  is resuming flights to  Paris /Orly/  every Monday, while low‑cost carrier  Volotea  is launching its first route to Burgas Airport with flights to  Lille, operating every Wednesday.

Following the successful launch of the  Vienna-Burgas route last year,  Austrian Airlines  is significantly increasing its flight program this summer. Flights will begin a month earlier - in mid‑May - and during the peak season will reach up to five weekly frequencies, offering extensive connecting options via its global hub in  Vienna  (Austria).

Discover Airlines  is resuming direct flights from  Frankfurt  to Burgas in mid‑May with two weekly frequencies, and from the beginning of July is also restarting flights from  Munich  (Germany). As part of the Lufthansa Group, the airline offers numerous opportunities for connections to destinations around the world.

TUI fly  is resuming its program at the end of May, increasing frequencies from  Hanover  (Germany) and adding a new direct route from  Frankfurt  (Germany) from the beginning of July.

Eurowings  is resuming flights from  Stuttgart  and  Hamburg  (Germany) in the second half of May, and from mid‑June - from  Düsseldorf  and  Cologne  (Germany). In July, the airline will also restart its  Salzburg  (Austria) route.

easyJet  is launching its summer program to Burgas at the beginning of June with flights from  Manchester  (United Kingdom) and  Berlin  (Germany), and in the second half of the month will resume its  London /Gatwick/  (United Kingdom) route.

Scandinavian routes will gradually begin in the second half of May with flights from  Helsinki  (Finland),  Stockholm  (Sweden),  Copenhagen  (Denmark),  Oslo, Trondheim  and  Bergen  (Norway). At the end of May, flights from  Riga(Latvia) and  Tallinn  (Estonia) are also expected to resume.

The charter program for the summer season is expected to start as early as the first half of May, with the first organized tourists arriving from Poland and the United Kingdom. Additional growth in the Polish market is expected thanks to expanded flight programs by low‑cost airlines, which traditionally support the tourism flow to the Southern Black Sea region.

The aviation environment remains dynamic under the influence of geopolitical factors, fuel price fluctuations, and operational changes on a global scale.  In this context, adjustments to flight programs are possible. The team of  Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD  continues to work actively with airlines and tourism partners for sustainable development of connectivity and to ensure a stable and successful summer season.

Burgas   Airport is looking forward to welcoming all passengers with its signature high-quality service and will continue to ensure a pleasant travel experience!
