Varna Airport with flights to a record number of capitals and a total of 60 destinations in the Summer Season 2026

Varna Airport starts the 2026 summer season with an exceptionally strong and dynamically expanding flight program, offering passengers  access to a total of 60 destinations. Thanks to active cooperation with airlines, a significant increase in frequencies, new routes, and growth in tourist traffic is expected.

The most substantial expansion in the airport’s portfolio comes from  Wizz Air, which announces  10 entirely new routes  - to  Athens  (Greece),  Barcelona  (Spain),  Paris /Beauvais/  (France),  Rome /Fiumicino/  (Italy),  Budapest  and  Debrecen(Hungary),  Katowice,  Warsaw /Modlin/,  Wroclaw, and  Gdansk  (Poland). Some of the new routes will be operated with a third aircraft based in Varna during the summer season, which will allow both the launch of new connections and an increase in frequencies on already established routes such as  Berlin  (Germany),  Charleroi  (Belgium), and  Bratislava(Slovakia). Thus, the airline will operate  a total of  23 routes  from the sea capital.

The national carrier  Bulgaria Air  is also strengthening its presence. Starting from April 30, it will resume direct flights to  Paris - Charles de Gaulle Airport, twice a week, offering convenient connections within the global Air France-KLM network. The airline is also increasing domestic connectivity with  Sofia, operating up to  23 weekly flights  during the summer months.

The French capital  Paris  will be accessible from Varna through all major airports in the city. In addition to the national carrier’s flights to  Paris - Charles de Gaulle Airport, for the third consecutive year Transavia France will operate flights to  Orly Airport, and  Wizz Air’s new route will provide a connection to  Beauvais Airport. At the end of May,  Voloteawill resume flights from  Nantes  and  Lille  (France).

Strong presence is also expected from other airlines.  Discover Airlines, part of the Lufthansa Group, will increase frequencies on the  Frankfurt-Varna route to six weekly flights and will resume flights to  Munich  (Germany) with three to four weekly frequencies. This will provide passengers with even better opportunities for convenient connections to dozens of destinations worldwide.

Additional expansion comes from  Turkish Airlines, which will operate up to  11 weekly flights  to  Istanbul  (Turkey), and  Austrian Airlines  with up to  10 weekly flights  to  Vienna  (Austria) during the summer season.  Air Serbia  will resume its flights to  Belgrade  (Serbia) at the end of May with four weekly frequencies. All these airlines offer convenient connecting options to numerous destinations in Europe, America, Asia, and other regions globally, significantly enhancing Varna Airport’s worldwide accessibility.

The charter season begins at the end of April with the first flights from Poland and organized groups from Austria.  Luxair’s flights from  Luxembourg  start in the first half of May, and during the second half, the launch of flights with organized tourists from Germany and the Czech Republic is expected.  Edelweiss Air  is extending its season with flights to  Zurich  (Switzerland) from early June until the end of September.

A strong double-digit growth is expected in the Polish market, supported by both  Wizz Air’s new routes and  Ryanair’s expanded program, which will resume flights from  Krakow  and  Katowice  (Poland) in June.

The flight program continues to develop extremely dynamically, influenced by geopolitical factors, fuel prices, and airline operational decisions.  The team of  Fraport Twin Star Airport Management AD  works actively and in close partnership with carriers and the tourism sector to ensure sustainable growth in connectivity and even better opportunities for passengers and the region.

Varna Airport is looking forward to welcoming all passengers with its signature high-quality service and will continue to ensure a pleasant travel experience!
