The historic moment of Burgas Airport coincided with the welcoming of a full plane with the first 185 tourists for Summer 2024, who arrived exactly at 10:15 h., on a regular flight of Ryanair from Krakow, Poland. They were surprised with a water arch, as well as with specially branded biscuits and souvenir magnets as soon as they got off the plane, and later they also attended an official ceremony led by the Director of Burgas Airport - Mr. Georgi Chipilski, at which symbolically a ribbon was cut and champagne was opened to mark the occasion. A little later, on the same day, at exactly 11:05 h, at Varna Airport, a Wizz Air flight from the city of Memmingen, Germany was also solemnly welcomed, marking Bulgaria's accession to Schengen by air. A water arch, special biscuits, souvenir magnets, as well as a children's dance performance by the talented little dancers from the "Mont" studio at the community center "Prosveta - 1905" in the town of Aksakovo, impressed all 163 passengers, who will remember this memorable moment for a long time. Symbolically, it was the children who cut the ribbon in front of the director of Varna Airport - Mr. Dimitar Kostadinov, as well as the official guests - the Regional Governor of Varna Region - Prof. Dr. Andriyana Andreeva, the deputy mayors of the Varna Municipality - Mr. Hristo Rafailov and Mr. Iliya Koev, the Deputy Mayor of Aksakovo Municipality - Mrs. Desislava Stoyanova, as well as the Head of the Border Police-Airport Varna - Commissioner Boncho Kralev. A special moment was the sending of Commissioner Kralev's peaked cap, together with a photo, to the official Schengen Museum, which will be included in the institution's exhibition.
